The Love Letters project

Launched through Billboard for Pride Month in 2016, Love Letters to the LGBTQ Community was a viral editorial and social campaign Patrick conceived, curated, and executed single-handedly. The project featured over 100 handwritten and heartfelt notes from A-list talent — including Ariana Grande, Elton John, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Barbra Streisand, Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, Sabrina Carpenter, Celine Dion and Liza Minnelli — expressing their love and appreciation for the LGBTQ community.

Patrick oversaw every aspect, from talent outreach and editorial curation to landing page design and social media strategy. Many stars submitted personal photos and videos — including Britney Spears, who shared images of her hand-writing her letter, and several who recorded themselves reading theirs aloud.

The project became a social media phenomenon, with nearly every participant sharing the custom graphics to their own platforms. It inspired tattoos, tributes, and widespread fan engagement — and helped spark the creation of the Billboard Pride channel. Love Letters finds new life each June, as fans continue to rediscover and share it during Pride Month.
